feet in the dirt ... head in the clouds

(1997)

The second CD
This is the second studio recording made by the Roweths, performing then as 'Us Not Them'. The duo's  physical move from city to country is reflected in songs revolving around people's relationships with each other and with the land, largely inspired by life in central NSW.

Chloë Roweth (Vocals, Mandolin, Bouzouki)

Jason Roweth (Vocals, Guitar, Bass)

Recording and production by Paul Nunn, Stumphouse Productions, Bathurst.

"Jason's sometimes subtle, sometimes vibrant guitar and harmonies are complimented by Chloe's vocal talents and dexterity on the mandolin. The choice of material from older slow ballads to biting comment is also well balanced." Rob Willis re: "Feet in the Dirt ... Head in the Clouds", Cornstalk Gazette

"It's difficult to find enough superlatives for this ground-breaking CD, which while solidly planted in the folk idiom is so individually expressed and phrased as almost to constitute a new musical form, and the breadth and profundity - not to mention beauty - of whose lyrics gives considerable pause." Richard Mills - Cornstalk Gazette.
